Good Fats Reduce Endometriosis Risk; Bad Fats Increase Risk

A study in Human Reproduction’s March issue gives women yet another reason to make sure they’re eating the right kinds of fats.

Endometriosis is a condition in which part of the lining of the uterus is found outside of the actual uterus.  It can cause severe pain and internal scarring which can lead to infertility and other assorted nastiness.  Summary:  you don’t want it.

In a nutshell, the study shows that those women eating healthy (Omega-3) fats like that in fish, had a much lower risk for endometriosis, while those eating trans fats (which are unhealthy fats usually found in processed foods) had a higher risk for this condition.

Just in case you needed another reason to keep it healthy.
